THE 2012 TOP FORTY ALBUMS - PART 1

Well, the votes are all in, the calculations have been done and we're all set to reveal The New Musical Box "Top 40 Albums" of 2012.

Just as a brief refresher, I put together a list of what I felt were a good Top 40 releases from the year - many of which had been Albums Of the Week on The Musical Box (Thursday nights at 10pm, Forest FM) -  and then opened up the voting to listeners and readers. All you had to do was select your Top 5 in 1,2,3,4,5 order and send them in.

Needless to say, there were a few albums that you felt could have been included, some felt they could only vote for a Top 3 (based on the albums they'd heard) - and others found it tough to put their chosen five into any semblance of order. It's all a bit of fun, really, so my thanks to all those who voted and commented.

What Now?

I've worked out the sequence of albums from #40 right up to #1 and am playing them, in order, in my shows of 27th December (#40 to #21) and 3rd January (#20 to #1). In a mercenary moved designed to get you to listen to the shows, the actual run down will only be revealed on air - and you can catch the programmes between 10pm and Midnight on the relevant dates by tuning into 92.3 Forest FM - or, using our Radio Player link to tune in anywhere around the world:

However, to provide some guidance, I shall reveal right here, the albums which made up positions #40 through to #21  - but not in order, just a random list taken straight from the blog of 13th December. I'll post the actual order - plus the albums (randomly) that comprise the Top 20 - before the show airing on January 3rd. The whole Top 40 - in order - will then appear after that second show.

You see, all as clear as mud.
